UNILORIN – Student Dies of Chronic Kidney Disease #unilorin

Babatunde Lukman passed away around 2.00AM this morning. He was buried later in the day according to the Islamic rites. Having been admitted to the University of Ilorin Teaching hospital since January 16, where he was diagnosed of having chronic kidney problem, Lukman has been battling with life ever since. He was placed on dialysis while 3 million naira was been sourced for his kidney transplant which was the permanent solution to his problem.

About a month ago, the vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin took a giant stride by donating 2.5million, in a bid to save a member of his big family, the University of Ilorin. The governor of Kwara State, in the same vein, promised a million naira, while the Students of Unilorin, under the umbrella of the Students Union Government, led by Comrade Abdulmolik Aremu, popularly reffered to as Attention, raised about 850,000 naira, MSSN, RCF, SEAP Kwara and good samaritans all over the country and in Diaspora supported the campaign and raised close to a million naira.

The money for the operation was complete but the operation was pegged, sources informed us that Lukman developed Tuberculosis and more complications along the line which the staff fought tooth and nail to resolve.

Lukman was a 200L student of Education technology, my very own course mate in the same university , so sad to hear this …May God grant his parent (mother), his brother (Musa) , his family, friends and well wishers the fortitude to bear the loss. May the Lord bless his soul. AMEN
