A 39-year-old Nigerian man, who was arrested for beating his girlfriend, Lilya Breha’s, five-year-old son, Alex Malcolm, to death for losing a shoe, has bagged a life sentence after being found guilty at Woolwich Crown Court in the United Kingdom..
The man identified as Marvyn Iheanacho, had taken Alex with him to pick up DVDs from his friend’s place on November 20, 2016, The Sun UK reports..
On the way, the pair stopped at Mountsfield Park in Hither Green where a witness overheard that the child saying ‘sorry’ for losing his shoe before he attacked him.
Jurors of the court were shown footage of Iheanacho carrying Alex in a “fireman’s lift” away from the park and towards a taxi rank where he asked for a cab to his girlfriend Lilya’s home.
The lost shoe which led to the eventual death of 5-year-old Malcolm is the justification for getting the beating of his life from Marvyn.
After beating him up, Iheanacho, who is an ex convict, lifted the body and headed to his girlfriend’s instead of a hospital
When he arrived at the address, Iheanacho attacked his partner to stop her calling an ambulance, and shouted:
“Keep your f**king mouth shut.”
The terrified Lilya managed to call the police and Alex was rushed to the hospital. Time wasted however couldn’t do much to save the little boy who passed two days later following bleeding in his brain.
According to reports, Marvyn had always had a case of violence and had been in prison countless times for various charges tied to violence.
