Ucla Shooting: Shots Fired in American University, 2 Confirmed Dead

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has also issued an official statement asking people to evacuate the area, describing it as an active shooter situation.

A shooter has opened fire on students at the Engineering building of the University of California (UCLA).

CNN reports that the entire campus is on lockdown and security operatives have cordoned off the whole area.

The two victims who were shot by the assailant have been confirmed dead.

According to TMZ,  the shooting reportedly happened nearBoelter Hall, and police snipers have been positioned in strategic positions in the campus.

CNN also reports that the police with combat team are combing every class in the Engineering building to make sure students are safe.

Reports also say the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)and other security agencies are on ground to assist with investigations.

An employee, Kimberly, who called CNN, said a guy came into the UCLA campus with a shotgun an opened fire.

Reports say the campus was busy, because lectures were winding down and exams were slated to start on Monday, June 6, 2016, so students were in classes for reviews.
