About 16 former Governors successful won election to the Senate in the recently held National Assembly election.
Although, Kashim Shettima (Borno), Ibrahim Geidam (Yobe), Rochas Okorocha (Imo), Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara), Abdullahi Adamu (Nasarawa) are still serving and their term will expire May 29.
However, the hallow chamber will house 16 ex-governors despite the absence of Bukola Saraki (Kwara), George Akume (Benue) and Godswill Akpabio (Akwa Ibom).
The new ex-governors joining their former colleagues include Adamu Aliero (Kebbi), Gabriel Suswam (Benue), Orji Uzor Kalu, Ibrahim Shekarau (Kano), Kabiru Gaya (Kano), and Tanko Almakura (Nasarawa), and Chimaroke Nnamani (Enugu).
They will join their former colleagues who were already a member before being reelected are : Theodore Orji (Abia), Mohammed Danjuma Goje (Gombe), Sam Egwu (Ebonyi), Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko (Sokoto), and Theodore Orji (Abia).
