Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose, has called on the Federal Government to increase the monthly allowance of Corps members in the country from N19,800 to N50,000.
The governor, who made the appeal in Ise Ekiti during the closing ceremony of the orientation course of the 2017 batch “A” stream 2, do so to enable them support themselves..
He also urged the corps members to see themselves as leaders of tomorrow..
The Governor said;
“Nigerians must collectively join me to mandate the federal government to increase the allowance from N19,800 to N50,000.
“On our part, the Ekiti government will provide all the necessary support for the Corps members to make their service year memorable in the state.
Meanwhile, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) State Coordinator, Ukagha Eze, charged the corps members to see themselves as leaders of tomorrow.
“I want to charge all Corps members to always see themselves as leaders of tomorrow and stay away from corruption during and after the service year,”
