Three Ekiti State residents are reportedly on trial for damaging singer, Yinka Ayefele’s car.
The incident happened during Ayefele’s visit to the Ekiti State Government where he entertained spectators who came out to see the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi during his visit to the state for the first time after his coronation in December 2015.
On Monday, October 31, the accusers were brought before an Ado Ekiti Magistrates’ Court where the issue was addressed.
20-year-old Isiaka Yusuf, 22-year-old Tope Olorunfemi and 35-year-old Kolade Owolabi were accused of criminally damaging the windscreen of a vehicle belonging to Ayefele at the Ewi’s palace in Ado Ekiti on October 27, at about 7.30pm.
‘The offence contravened Section 451 of the Criminal Code, Cap C16, Vol 1, Law of Ekiti State,’ prosecutor, Bankole Olasunkanmi said.
The case has however been adjourned till November 8, 2016 for further hearing.
The gospel singer’s damaged car is yet to be revealed.
