The former Bauchi State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Sagir Aminu Saleh, has dumped the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Saleh joined the PDP along side Professor Sani malani as well as Baheejah Mahmoud of the Green Party of Nigeria and Advance Democratic Congress guber candidates, respectively

The decampees were received by Mohammed Bala, the PDP guber candidate in Bauchi during Atiku Abubakar’s presidential campaign rally in the state on Tuesday.

Bala stressed that lack of justice and internal democracy informed the defection of the former deputy governor along side other guber candidates; including 50,000 supporters of APC, NNPP and GPN to PDP.

“Today, we have received into PDP former Bauchi State Deputy Governor, Sagir Aminu Saleh, two guber candidates, former APC chairman including 50,000 supporters of APC, NNPP and Green Party of Nigeria,’ said Bala.

He described the defection as an indication that the PDP would win the general election. According to Bala, Nigerians have suffered culpable neglect under the Buhari-led government.

Leader of the defectors, Professor Sani Malami, said they defected to PDP to rescue the nation from APC. He promised that the defectors will mobilise their supporters to vote out APC in the next general election.

“We dumped our various political parties for PDP to save the country and to pursue our political career,” said Malami
