A police officer confirmed to ThisDay that the girl, identified simply as Susan, was dropped off near the police headquarters in Mubi after being reportedly thrown off a truck filled with escaping Boko Haram members.
The girl was said to have been found in a bad state with scars and injuries all over her body and swollen legs because she had walked a long distance after being dropped off.
The police officer reportedly said:
“She had old and fresh wounds and her legs were swollen, may be because she trekked a long distance, and you could see marks on her body where she was mercilessly beaten by her abductors, I believe,”
Another source, one Mallam Musa, also told ThisDay that the girl was found stranded on the road with fresh and old wounds on her body and that she had obviously been beaten and maltreated.
