Bomb Found Outside Stadium For Germany Vs Holland, Game Postponed

A German newspaper is reporting that a soccer match in Hannover was canceled because an ambulance full of explosives was found out front following a bomb threat.

There was no immediate confirmation of that report, though the Hannover chief of police was quoted by multiple sources as saying “there was a device intended to be detonated inside the stadium.”

An announcement by police informed spectators about an hour and a half before kickoff on Tuesday that the stadium would be evacuated.

Local police told supporters “please go home quickly without panic” and the arena was evacuated.

Security had been heightened after Friday’s terror attacks in Paris, which included a suicide bomber detonating outside the France vs Germany game at the Stade de France.

Angela Merkel, the German chancellor, had been due to attend the game.
