APC Governors Meet Buhari, Sound 2019 Warning

Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday met with President Muhammadu Buhari, saying the party must not go to the general elections as” a divided family. “

The five Governors – Rochas Okorocha (Imo), Kashim Shettima (Borno), Akinwumi Ambode (Lagos), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje (Kano) and Mohammed Abubakar (Bauchi) met behind closed door at the State House Villa,Abuja with the President

This comes bare six days after the governors met with the President over same issue in the wake of the party’s acrimonious primaries.

Addressing State House Correspondents at the end of the meeting, Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, Rochas Okorocha said they met with the President to discuss key issues affecting the party.

“We are here on delegation of governors to come and congratulate Mr President for having emerged as the presidential candidate of APC in the 2019 election.

“We have come to request from Mr President for a date for governors to come together with our followers and supporters to further inform the world of our readiness to deliver him in the 2019 election. This basically is the message we have come and to say that Mr President is more than ever ready for the entire exercise,” he said.

Okorocha said Nigerians are wiser than in previous elections and that they would ask questions before voting for contestants.

The Imo governor added that the issue of the Zamfara State where the party was unable to conduct primaries was also discussed.

On the just concluded convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) where former Vice President Atiku Abubakar emerged as the flag bearer, he said they are not jittery.
