After Calling For 50% Sack of Workers, 2.1 Billion Goes Missing Under Sanusi’s Watch!
The governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, was recently in the news calling for the Federal Government to sack 50% of its staff to save money, however, it has just been discovered that under his watch, in the Nigeria Security Printing and Minting Company (NSPMC), rather than save money, 2.1 Billion has vanished when someone or a group of people made away with 1000 notes totaling 2.1 billion!
This necessitated the board of the Nigeria Security Printing and Minting Company to meet, under the chairmanship of Sanusi, to try to unravel the whereabouts of the monies.
As a first step in the process, Ehi Okomoyon, the chief executive of NSPMC has been ordered to proceed on indefinite leave and replaced in acting capacity by one Ahmed Bamali.
The same treatment was meted out to one Emmanuel Bala, who until he was asked to go on leave was head of security at the NSPMC.
It was alleged that strangely there were no CCTVs in place at the NSPMC which contributed to the ease with which the funds disappeared.
The investigation continues and gidibase.com continues to follow it ..
