Olaide Adekunle, 33, has been arrested for selling her infant for N600,000 in order to pay off a bank loan.
According to reports, the young mother was arrested by the Ogun State police command for reportedly selling her 18-month-old baby for N600,000 to an unidentified buyer.
Nureni Rasaq, the woman’s husband, reported the event to the Sango divisional headquarters. He alleged to the police that his wife, Olaide Adekunle, departed for Lagos on March 15, 2023, with their baby girl, Moridiat Rasaq, but never returned.
After the event was reported to the police, an arrest warrant was issued for the woman, and during questioning, the suspect admitted to selling her kid to someone in Lagos for six hundred thousand naira (#600,000).
The mother of the children disclosed that she sold the child to an unknown woman in Lagos in order to get money to pay off the loan she took from a microfinance bank.
