The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Management has given an explanation for why it took so long to pay corps members’ allowances for the month of June.
The NYSC claims that the administration of funds by various banks was to blame for the delay.
It was made clear that the Scheme had made all necessary preparations for the payment of corps members’ allowances on June 27, 2025, in a statement released by the NYSC Director of Press and Public Relations, Eddy Mequa, on July 2, 2025.
The banks, however, had not yet credited the accounts of the corps members, which caused the delay.
In order to speed up the payment of the June allowances without further delay, the NYSC Management assured that it is actively coordinating with the banks.
They were aware of the concern and confusion among serving corps members and urged them to remain calm and law-abiding in their respective places of national service.
The statement emphasized that the NYSC will continue to prioritize the welfare of corps members and address any issues related to it.
