Ondo lady, Chef Deo crosses 5-hour mark, aims to break Hilda Baci’s record

In an effort to break Hilda Baci’s previous record for the longest cooking marathon, Nigerian chef Adeyeye Adeola, also known as Chef Deo, is currently engaged in an amazing culinary endeavor.

The Ile-Oluji Local Government Area of Ondo State hosted Adeola’s cook-a-thon, which started on June 30 and is scheduled to end on July 6, 2023.

In order to test the limits of culinary endurance, another Nigerian chef, Adeparusi Damilola, also known as Chef Dammy, recently concluded a 120-hour cook-a-thon in the Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

The current Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon (individual) is held by Hilda Effiong Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci, who achieved a remarkable time of 93 hours and 11 minutes.

Her record-breaking attempt took place from May 11 to May 15, during which she prepared over 100 pots of food over the course of four days.

The Guinness World Records has officially acknowledged Hilda Baci’s achievement after conducting a comprehensive review of the evidence.

However, if Adeyeye Adeola manages to complete his planned 150-hour cook-a-thon, he will surpass Hilda Baci’s record and establish a new world record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

Hours after the commencement of the event, a Nigerian identified as Alakowe took to his media page to react.

He wrote “Another chef from Ile Oluji, Ondo State Chef Deo, commences her 150hrs cook-a-thon to break Hilda Baci’s current record. She has cooked for 5hrs 40mins now.”
