Amaka Onyema, a Nigerian woman, has begun her weight loss journey after encountering weight-related issues.
Amaka claims that she began to gain weight at school but did not take it seriously despite warnings from her peers.
Her weight increased after she married and had children to the point that she could no longer lift herself.
The woman in her forties decided to take severe measures to lose weight. She stated that she has seen changes and that her husband and children are pleased with her weight loss.
Amaka stated that her husband, who had previously indicated an interest in massively built women, had altered his opinion and claimed that hers was becoming too prominent.
Speaking to BBC News Pidgin, she said in vernacular:
“To carry myself come dey hard, I don come big reach wey na only bed I dey stay. I no fit comot from bed unless I wan enta bathroom. Na on top bed I dey eat, na ontop bed I dey do evritin.
She expressed happiness that her weight loss journey was working as her children confirmed the change in her body size.
