A Nigerian man has lamented the high cost of yam in Canada after he happened to be craving it.
The Nigerian guy with the handle @cookwith_dike expressed his shock and dismay at the expensive price of yams in Canadian grocery stores.

The man identified as Dike can be seen excitedly entering a nearby grocery store in the TikTok video, which has now gone viral.
He moves through the aisles looking for the yam department. When he reads the price tag and sees that the prized tuber costs a staggering $5.50 per pound, his initial excitement swiftly turns to disbelief.
Dike quips, “My yam leg is enough,” with a hint of comedy and a little of grief. This regional proverb, which is frequently used in Nigeria to express shock or astonishment, perfectly depicts his response to the outrageous cost of the yams.
In the video, he shares his recent visit to a nearby superstore, recounting his excitement at the prospect of finding yams, a staple food in Nigerian cuisine, on the grocery shelves.
However, his excitement is swiftly deflated as he scans the price display. The steep cost of $5.50 per pound for yams highlights the stark difference in pricing compared to Nigeria, where yams are a dietary staple and usually much more affordable.
