A Nigerian woman has come forward to allege that the lack of support for Ekiti chef’s bid to break her cookathon record in her Nigeria was the because she was poor and lacking.
The woman, who expressed her opinions on social media, claims that Nigerians unfairly favor the well-known chef Hilda Baci over the less well-known Ekiti Chef because of the latter’s financial situation.
She contends that because Hilda Baci is viewed as having more riches than the Ekiti Chef, her ambitions to surpass her accomplishments are being threatened. The only reason she couldn’t break Hilda Baci’s record was because of money.
These allegations from the woman, whose name is unknown, have further sparked controversy in the ongoing culinary competition.
The controversy surrounding this revelation has divided public opinion.
Some have condemned the alleged bias, arguing that talent and passion should be the determining factors in such competitions, irrespective of a person’s financial background.
Others, however, have questioned the validity of the claim, suggesting that it may be a mere assumption rather than a reflection of the actual sentiments of the Nigerian population.
As news of the Nigerian lady’s revelation spreads, discussions on social media platforms are intensifying.
