A young woman has filed a police report against a man who took her wig off in the streets of New York City for no apparent reason.
A local artist named Lizzy Ashliegh, who is Black, filed the complaint with the NYPD on Sunday, May 28. The offense is classified as a misdemeanor assault, and Ashliegh claims she received a slight damage on her neck.
When she made the report, Ashliegh denied medical attention, but she later claimed on social media that she had visited a doctor and that her report had initiated an investigation. She identified the culprit as Anthony Orlich, a lawyer whose legal company has recently fired him.
In the footage, woman can be seen continuously asking the man why he snatched her wig off. Friends of Orlich were seen trying to get him to apologize for it but to no avail. Orlich hasn’t publicly commented on the allegations.
