After getting a nasty message from a woman who said her husband was only with her for her passport, a German woman who is married to a Nigerian guy has revealed her distress.
Julia Nnebedum, better known online as Baby Oku Germany, used social media to express her sorrow and draw attention to the pervasiveness of unjust stereotypes about intercultural relationships.
A screenshot of a communication from an unidentified woman was sent to Julia Nnebedum, a mother of two, and this is when the issue started.
The message implied that her Nigerian husband’s motivation for marrying her was an ambition to obtain a German passport.
Deeply hurt by the baseless allegation, she decided to bring the matter to public attention, hoping to shed light on the issue of unfair prejudices faced by interracial couples.
She expressed her disbelief at how some people could harbor such negative assumptions about her marriage, based solely on her nationality and her husband’s background.
