A group of Nigerian cops have been seen on camera beating up a young man in Delta State who allegedly refused to offer them bribe.
According to reports, the individual was detained at the checkpoint by officers but refused to pay the regular 100 naira pass fee.
The authorities were said to have taken the man’s car documentation as well as his license plate numbers.
When the young man approached them to request that they return the stuff to him, the armed cops swooped down on him.
In the footage, one of the officers is seen taking a knife from its scabbard, threatening to kill the young man.
Another officer quickly charged at the young man, striking him with sticks and drew more officers to the young man.
Passers-by and other motorists who were hesitant to intervene stared on helplessly.
