Social media has been buzzing after a Nigerian woman could not be recognized by her father after ten years abroad.
After ten years, a the woman returned from overseas, but tragically, her father didn’t recognize her.
Patchi had left her father in the dark about her return to Nigeria because she was so overcome with emotion.
Video of the touching moment, which Patchi later published on TikTok and showed her travel to her family’s house, was taken.
Captioning the video, she wrote; “Watch how I surprised my Dad after 10 years and my dad couldn’t recognised me.”
The footage depicted her seeking directions from kind-hearted strangers as she made her way to the house.

It was only after a loved one intervened and introduced Patchi that her father’s confusion dissipated, and he finally realized that the tomboyish person standing before him was his long-lost daughter.
Overwhelmed with joy and relief, Patchi and her father embraced, shedding tears of happiness as they held each other tightly.
However, amidst the joyous reunion, Patchi shared the sad news that her mother had passed away during her time abroad.
The bittersweet moment served as a reminder of the preciousness of family and the importance of cherishing every moment spent together.
