Nigeria’s top artistes are increasingly being whisked away by foreign corporations; first it was Davido, then Tiwa Savage, and now the Star Boy Wizkid is reportedly set to join the top record label, Sony BMG.
According to NET, insider sources confirmed to the media house that the official announcement will be made public in a few days.
“Wizkid’s new deal with Sony is a done deal, the News should be out in a couple of days,” the ‘highly placed’ source told NET, adding that the ‘Ojuelegba’ singer and Nigerian counterpart Davido, will be in same New York office on the day of the announcement.
In January, Davido clinched the deal with Sony Global and following the US-arm of the company was Ayo Jay who signed the deal with Sony/RCA Records.
And when we thought that was all, Roc Nation whisked the Mavin queen, Tiwa Savage, away. Now, we are all grateful Olamide recently said he intends to stay close to home, and so is rapper MI Abaga.
They cannot come and be carrying all our top acts like that!
