After writing and directing the box office hit “Black Panther,” director Ryan Coogler has signed on to take the helms of the sequel.

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Marvel and its parent company Disney have inked a deal with Coogler to make a sequel to the movie which grossed $1.3 billion worldwide.

THR says that the deal was signed “some time ago,” after “Black Panther” gave us Wakanda, the fictional African country where vibranium is a plentiful resource.

The production is expected to start in late 2019 or early 2020, after Coogler has written the script.

No official word has been spoken on the release of the movie.
