Following reports that it took former Toyin Aimakhu‘s lover, Seun Egbegbe‘s apologetic gesture to settle their dispute which was borne out of counter-accusations and threats, the Ebony Films CEO has denied prostrating for the actress.
Though he acknowledged that the dispute has since been settled, the movie promotion mogul debunked claims he appeared before the Lagos Commissioner of Police to prostrate for Toyin.
Seun told Encomium in an interview: ‘I, Seun Egbegbe, didn’t appear before the CP to sign any undertaking and I didn’t prostrate for Toyin or beg her for any reason. It’s just a rumour. Maybe those writing or posting that are only looking for unnecessary attention or maybe it’s being sponsored.’
Asking for proof of the claim, Seun who was reportedly arrested for threatening to ‘end Toyin’s acting career’, further told the publication: ‘If that’s true, I believe there should be a photograph as evidence just like it happened in the case of Wizkid and Linda Ikeji. So, it’s just a waste of time believing that kind of rubbish. All I know is that Toyin and I have settled and there’s no issue between us again.’
However, according to the publication, Toyin’s sources maintain the promoter indeed signed an undertaking. ‘Yes, Seun Egbegbe has signed an undertaking before the Lagos State Commissioner of Police that nothing would happen to Toyin Aimakhu or her career as earlier threatened. He signed the undertaking on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. He also begged Toyin in front of CP,’ the source is quoted as saying.
Toyin continues to go on set for new movie shoots following the resolution.
