The acting
governor of Taraba State, Alhaji Garba Umar declared
Governor Danbaba Suntai missing.
Umar made the declaration in the state capital, Jalingo during
a meeting held with journalists yesterday, October 6.
According to Leadership,
The acting governor said:
“Few of my aides and I were already at the domestic wing of
the airport to receive my boss but, unknowingly to me, the
cabal was already waiting at the international wing of the
airport where the plane conveying my boss was directed to
land.”
“When I got to know that the plane landed at the international
wing, I rushed to the place to receive him, but he was in a
jeep which immediately drove him to T.Y. Danjuma Lodge,”
Umar reportedly added that the ailing governor is being held
hostage by some elements who were determined to keep him
in office despite his obvious inability to rule.
Suntai was severely injured on October 25, 2012 when a
plane he was flying crashed in Namtari Village, near Yola in
Adamawa state.
