Super Eagles Captain Mikel Undergoes Successful Surgery In London

Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel has successfully undergone surgery to correct a hip injury picked up while in action for Tianjin TEDA in the Chinese Super League.

Mikel, who turned 30 earlier this month, who has been out of action for several weeks following the injury with his last appearance for Tianjin TEDA coming in their 2-0 Chinese Super League victory over Chongqing Lifan, took to social media to post an update that the surgery was a success.

The former Chelsea midfielder wrote;
”Surgery went well, rehab next… can’t wait to be back. Shame I can’t be on the pitch fighting with my team #TianjinTEDA #TEDAFightingFightingFighting.”
