The 2014 edition of the Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards is set to take place live in Houston on October 25.
GIAMA organization who has officially released the nominations for the 2014 GIAMA. Revealed that this year’s production in African Cinema was very competitive as filmmakers depicted inner complications of the human mind in the execution of the various movies submitted for review.
For the two categories under viewer’s choice, voting begins on Friday 15th and ends on Sunday 31st August 2014; to vote, log onto www.giamaawards.com. With a very competitive entry this year, below are the nominated casts, crew and movies for the third wave of GIAMA Awards 2014 nominees:
For the award of the best Motion Picture, Nollywood movies,A Mile from Home A Mile From Home, Iyore, Being Mrs. Elliot, Apaye, Accident, Dining with a long spoon
For Best Film (Indigenous) Akan leads, while Sekunola, Chetanna, 30 Days in Atlanta, Sundiata follow closely
Rita Dominic & Joseph Benjamin in Apaye were nominated for best collaboration while Ayo Makun and Ramsey Nouah – 30 Days in Atlanta, then Belinda Effah & Kanayo O Kanayo – Apaye, while• Clarion Chukwurah & Mercy Johnson were nominated for their role in Hustlers.
For the same category, Nadia Buari and Jim Iyke were nominated for their role in The Diary of Imogen Brown., while Uche Jombo and Patience Ozokwor , were nominated for After the Proposal
• Nominated as Best Actor where, Nonso Diobi, Joseph Benjamin, Bob Manuel, Ramsey Nouah, Kalu Ikeagwu,Kanayo.O.Kanayo and Majid Michel
While in the best Actress category, Nse Ikpe Etim, Rita Dominic , Chioma Akpotha, Omoni Oboli , Jackie Appiah, Ini Edo and Clarion Chukwura.
The best supporting actor’s list had Femi Jacobs, Uti Nwachukwu, Ayo Makun, and Fredrick Leonard.
Patience Ozokwo led the crew in the Best Comic act category, while Lepacious Bose, Ini Edo, Mercy Johnson and Eniola Badmus followed suit
