Afrobeat singer, Rema has been making waves with his mind blowing hit songs as his song ‘Calm Down’ displaces CKay’s ‘Love Nwantiti’ to become the most streamed African song in the history of United States of America.
The ‘Holiday’ crooner who released the remix of ‘Calm Down’ on 25 August 2022 has been topping the chart ever since.
The American singer, Selena Gomez was included in the remix, which added to the smash track’s success.
According to Chart Data, a company that compiles music streaming statistics, Calm Down is currently the most streamed African song in US history. They announced this on their official Twitter account.
They disclosed that his song had taken the place previously held by CKay’s “Love Nwantiti.”
“@heisrema’s ‘Calm Down’ is now the #1 most streamed Afrobeats song in US history, surpassing @ckay_yo’s ‘love nwantiti’,” they wrote.
It is noteworthy that both the original and remix of the song has broken records since amassing over half billions of stream on both YouTube and Spotify.
