Daniel, a 32 year old graduate, in his confessional statement led IRT operatives to Ibokun River in Ibokun Local Government Area where Ogunranti’s mutilated body was recovered.

He said that other suspects were arrested in Lagos and Ondo states respectively.

The spokesman said the suspects confessed they kidnapped, killed and mutilated the body of Ogunranti to stop him from disturbing them about the huge sums of money they took from him.

Idris said the arrest of the suspects was a glaring evidence of the proactive nature of the police in the new dispensation.

He assured Nigerians that the police would always ensure their security of lives and property.

The Police have arrested five suspected killers of the Managing Director of Todays Prints Ltd, Olalekan Ogunranti.

A statement issued by the Force Spokesman, Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Don Awunah, on Tuesday gave the names of the suspects as Asimiyu Agboola, Adesina Meyidan, Ramoni Afolabi, Akeem Akorede and Coker Daniel.

It would be recalled that Ogunranti was kidnapped on May 16 by some unknown gunmen in Osun State.

He said that following the slow pace of the investigation, the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, ordered the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) to take over the matter.

“The Intelligence Response Team swung into action using all the technical resources of the Force available to them for the arrest of five prime suspects.
