PDP Woos Saraki, Kwankwaso for 2019 Presidential Elections

Kwankwaso-Saraki

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has initiated moves to woo some of its former members back to the party in preparation for the 2019 presidential elections.

Among those being wooed by the PDP was a former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Kwankanso, and the President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki.

Reports say Kwankwaso met with some former governors from the North and some Senators behind closed-doors shortly before the wedding (fatiha) of the daughter of a former Governor of Niger State, Alhaji Abdullahi Kure, in the Lapai area of the state on Sunday.

Reports say the meeting was in accordance to the party’s search for a candidate to fly its presidential ticket in 2019. It’s believed that Kwankwaso was pressurized to join the PDP, following his recent troubles with the APC.

Kwankwaso however denied meeting with the PDP on Sunday.
