For the Second year in a row, the Miss America Crown has gone to Miss New York.
Miss New York, Nina Davuluri was yesterday crowed Miss America.
Nina performed a Bollywood dance for the talent show case to advance to the top five. And then had to answer a question pertaining to the controversies surrounding Julie Chen’s eye surgery.
The Indian-American beauty replied , “I don’t agree with plastic surgery, however I can understand that from a standpoint. More importantly, I’ve always viewed Miss America as the girl next door. And Miss America is always evolving.” She added, “I wouldn’t want to change someone’s looks. Be confident in who you are.”
Nina is the first Indian-American to be crowned Miss New York and also the first to be crowned Miss America.
