Meek Mill Blasts Police Officer That Investigated Him

The recent police killings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile have shaken the hip-hop community as Meek Mill is one of the many rappers who have spoken out about the injustices that facing black Americans in this country of late.

In recounting his own experience, the Philadelphia rapper recently learned that the officer who investigated him in 2007 had been taken off the streets. Meek took to Instagram to comment on what turned out to be a bittersweet moment.

“TODAY I RECEIVED INFORMATION THAT THE LEAD OFFICER GRAHAM WHO NAME YOU SEE ON MY POLICE REPORT HAS BEEN UNDER INVESTIGATION AND HAS BEEN TAKEN OFF THE STREETS!”

Meek Mill also wrote.

“BUT WHAT ABOUT ALL THE DAMAGE AND PAIN AND SUFFERING HE CAUSED …. HOW MANY PEOPLE LOST THEIR FREEDOM BECAUSE THIS COP! #OFFICERGRAHAM PHILADELPHIA COP BADGE NUMBER #6214 LETS GET THESE GUYS OUT OF OUR COMMUNITIES ALONG WITH THE DUDES KILLING ABOUT NOTHING!”

Meek Mill also shared a drawing of his old mugshot. In the caption, the Maybach Music Group artist called out the police for employing racists and making things difficult for the black community.

“PUT THEM COPS IN OUR HOOD KNOWING THEY RACIST,” Meek Mill said. “SETTING US UP FOR FAILURE….MADE US REBELLIOUS…. JUDGES SLAMMING THE HAMMER THAT NAIL US! #OBAMA PLEASE MAKE A SACRIFICE AND CREATE SOMETHING TO PROTECT US!”

Meek Mill has longstanding issues with police. The rapper unsuccessfully sued the city of Philadelphia over a 2012 incident where he was detained for nine hours by cops during a failed attempt to locate drugs.
