“This morning, I woke up at 4:30 so I could drive two and a half hours to an abortion clinic.I walked inside of a building with a crowd of protesters shouting at me and telling me how horrible a person I am.I sat in a waiting room and listened to the stories of the other women there, and then I sat in a waiting room some more.I waited and waited, contemplating my decision and worrying about the guilt that I’d feel after. The nurse called my name and I went to a nearly empty room with walls painted white where a doctor was waiting.Four minutes later, he was done and within half an hour, I was on my way.I don’t feel guilty. I don’t feel sad. I have never felt more relieved than I do right now. We need to end the abortion stigma. “I had an abortion today and I’m happy I did.”
“Hell yea girl you most likely made the best decision possible in order not to derail your life.“It’s not the end of the world, you can have a child when you are at a point in life in which you feel confident in raising one. Rest up, watch some Netflix and breathe darling.”
“Thank you for sharing your story! The stigma does need to end. You made the right choice for yourself and you’re happy that you did which is wonderful. Studies show the majority of people feel relieved after an abortion.”
