Sonia Ekweremadu, daughter of former Nigerian Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, has condemned her parents’ sentencing.
Earlier today, it was reported that former Nigerian Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu and his other accomplices were sentenced to nine years and eight months in prison for plotting to harvest a man’s kidney, along with his wife, Beatrice, who was sentenced to four years and six months in prison.
Speaking in a recent interview with BBC she revealed that her parents’ imprisonment surprised her. She goes on to say that she disagrees with her parents’ sentence.
Sonia went on to say that she will be biased in such a case since she will always be on her parents’ side.
Sonia revealed that she has lymphatic syndrome when discussing her kidney problem. She was not, however, active in the search for a kidney. She went on to say that since the matter became public, she has received a flood of donations.
