Court grants Seun Kuti bail, gives police 48 hours

Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti has been granted bail by the chief magistrate court in Yaba, Lagos state.

The whole brouhaha started after the singer slapped a police officer in uniformed. 

However, in a turn of event, on Tuesday, May 16, the singer was granted bail. The court also ordered police to investigate the alleged officer assault within 48 hours.
Seun Kuti’s car was pulled over on the Third Mainland Bridge, and he was jailed for slapping an officer.

However, the defense attorney, Femi Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), pleaded with the court not to remand his client.

Seun said that the police officer threatened his and his family’s lives.
