Good news for corps members as Federal Government of Nigerian through the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has started the payment of N33,000 allowance to Corps members.
The payment started today (Friday 31st January 2020), and many corps members have testified to the new allowance structure.
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari in April 2019 signed into law an increase in the new minimum wage and NYSC has approved the monthly allowance of Corps members to N33,000.
The Director General of NYSC, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, affirmed the approval at the NYSC Secretariat in Bauchi.
The development was also confirmed by the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare, who gave no further details on the matter.
Meanwhile, joyous corps members who received the N33,000 new allowance confirmed the payment via text messages.
