The Presidency has on Sunday said that President Muhammadu Buhari will be proceeding on a 10-day vacation beginning from Monday, June 6th, 2016 to seek medical attention and take a rest.
According to a statement from the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, Buhari will during the holiday see an Ear Nose and Throat (E.N.T) specialist following a persistent ear infection.
This is coming barely three days after news had filtered in that the president was seriously ill.
The presidency, however, insisted that Buhari was hale and hearty.
On Sunday, the president’s Twitter handle, @NGRPresident, tweeted, “During the holiday, the President will see an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist for a persistent ear infection.”

The post added, “The President was examined by his personal physician and an E.N.T Specialist in Abuja and was treated.
“Both Nigerian doctors recommended further evaluation purely as a precaution.”
With this, Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo would step in as the Acting President within the period of the President’s absence.
