Veteran Yoruba actor, Murphy Afolabi, 49, was pronounced dead in the early hours of morning in his home.
The Nollywood industry has been thrown into mourning as one of their own is gone.
Tunde Ola-Yusuf, a veteran film director and producer, reported his death on his Facebook page on Sunday afternoon.
“Rest in peace. May God give the family and close associates the fortitude to bear the loss,” he wrote.
The deceased celebrated his birthday just over a week ago, precisely Friday, May 5.
Murphy, who started his career with a movie titled ‘Ifa Olokun’ under Dagunro’s guidance, featured in and produced scores of others.
