Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa state has described Senator Ben Murray Bruce as a gift to Bayelsa state and the Ijaw nation

Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa state has described Senator Ben Murray Bruce as “a gift to Bayelsa state and the Ijaw nation,” This Day reports.

The governor said in a statement signed by Daniel Iworiso-Markson, his chief press secretary, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state capital, that the innovative and creative talents of Bruce have in the last three decades opened a positive chapter for Nigeria in the encyclopaedia of global entertainment literature.

Dickson comes on the heels of Bruce 60th birthday anniversary on Friday, February 19.

The governor statement reads: “On behalf of the government and people of Bayelsa state, I wish to felicitate with one of our own, one in whom we are so pleased as a state and as a people, Distinguished Senator Ben Murray Bruce, who is arguably the doyen of show business promotion in Nigeria and beyond, an accomplished administrator and media tycoon of inestimable disposition, on the occasion of his Diamond Jubilee celebration.

“Distinguished Senator Murray-Bruce, you are indeed a rare gem and a gift to Bayelsa state and the Ijaw nation. Your innovative and creative talents have in the last three decades projected the people and cultures of our land to the world stage. Today, things that were thought to be exclusive preserves of the western world have been made a part of our society, because you took the bold initiative to venture into them.

“As a first time Senator, you have already achieved remarkable milestones and carved an enviable niche for yourself and indeed our people through your now famous ‘I just want to make Common Sense’ cliché, that has clearly become one of the most widely accepted political slogans of our time.”

Senator Ben Murray Bruce’s common sense advocacy which has taken over the airwaves in Nigeria, is in line with the senator’s mission to change the country for good through great ideas.

He is unarguably one of the most respected serving Senators in Nigeria today.
