Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson has received backlash from Netizens following her endorsement of executive governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as he runs for a second term under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Taking to her Instagram page, the mother of four declared her intention to vote for Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the gubernatorial election, which has been postponed to March 18th.
Mercy Johnson explained that she is willing to vote for the governor’s re-election because she believes that his administration’s accomplishments are noticeable and can be verified.
“This is why my choice is Governor Babajide Sanwoolu; His efforts that have improved healthcare, women’s development, transportation, entrepreneurship, education, and infrastructure in Lagos State.
Key points for me include the handling of the Covid 19 pandemic, entrepreneurship support and all the work behind the scenes helping women who have been victims of domestic violence to supporting their entrepreneurship.
His results can be seen and measured. Yes, there is still a lot of work left to do, I believe in my heart that he can and will do as he says.”
This didn’t sit well with a lot of social media users who slammed her for being partial considering the fact that she did not campaign during the presidential election because she didn’t want her husband loosing his own sit but now that he is in the clear she is campaigning for gubernatorial election.
