Portuguese surgeon Jose Carlos Noronha has reportedly warned Cristiano Ronaldo, to rest his knee injury or he is at risk of threatening his career.
The Real Madrid forward’s fitness was in doubt ahead of the 2014 World Cup, as he tried to shight off a thigh problem and tendonitis in his knee, which forced him to miss training and two warm-up matches.
According to Spanish online newspaper El Confidencial, Noronha told Ronaldo: “Let your knee rest, or your future is in danger” and the 29-year-old answered: “I’m the one that says whether I’m playing or not.”
Ronaldo, who played in Portugal’s 4-0 loss to Germany, was then pictured limping out of training with his knee heavily strapped.
