Young Thug appeared on Trae Tha Truth’s Hometown Hero album earlier this month and now he drops a new song called “Backbone”, which finds home on the Before Anythang soundtrack.
Later, he wonders if those around him are truly loyal. “My ni**as said they trill, but I want ’em to prove it / If I wasn’t rich and didn’t have a job, would you still do it?” In between his more thought-provoking lines, Thug manages to boast about himself and his team. “I’m Michael Jackson,” he raps. “My crew, we could be the Beatles.” Recently, Gucci Mane proposed a Rich Gang reunion between Rich Homie Quan and Young Thug for $1 million. However, Thugger seemed to scoff at the notion. Thug also recently promised not to release a new album this year as a tribute to his brother, who is deaf.
