Social media has been taken by storm after a Nigerian immigration job placement expert reveals the reason behind many Nigerians being broke in Canada.
According to the Nigerian woman who lives in Canada and works as a job placement manager, many immigrants of different countries, including Nigerians, are broke because they don’t have a strong enough work ethic, which means they aren’t working hard enough.
The young woman’s controversial comments have stirred debates regarding the difficulties that immigrants encounter while attempting to integrate into North American society.
The immigration job placement officer, whose identity has not been released, claimed to have spoken with thousands of immigrants and their friends in the video.
According to her, a pivotal anecdote from an individual who expressed an inability to hold down two jobs as a personal support worker (PSW), earning $28 per hour, served as an illustration of the broader issue.
She used this instance to reinforce her claim that laziness is at the core of financial challenges faced by immigrants, labeling it as an “excuse” to avoid diligently pursuing employment opportunities.
She asserted that immigrants without professional roles in Canada must exert twice the effort to secure a stable livelihood.
Addressing the dynamics of the Canadian job market, the woman emphasized that her assertions were grounded in her observations, indicating that her close associate, who solely works as a PSW, managed to acquire a property valued at over $700,000 in Ottawa. She uses this as evidence that only lazy people complain about not having money in Canada.
