After 50 years, Samuel Machuka, a 91-year-old man who left his home in search of “greener pastures,” has returned with only a walking stick.
Machuka, who had left his family behind in search of “greener pastures,” had been doing odd jobs on a farm in Wote, Makueni County.
Machuka was reunited with his family in Nyaribari Masaba Kisii’s Masabo village thanks to the assistance of the Provincial Administration. Machuka was joyfully greeted by his family despite the fact that only a small number of his peers could identify him.
Machuka admitted to having three unofficial marriages, but he didn’t know where his wives were.
His aging uncles, who had been looking for him in vain, expressed relief and pledged to help him start a family.
They suggested that he build a home on his share of the family property and invited any woman who had his children to live with him.
Makomba, Machuka’s nephew, thanked the Provincial Administration and said that they, as Seventh Day Adventist Christians, would not perform any rituals but rather would cordially welcome Machuka back to his native country and permit him to settle.
