Ronaldo Will Play Against Man Utd Despite Red Card – Paul Scholes (See Reason)

That is the opinion of BT Sport pundit and former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes.

Ronaldo was shown a straight red card for an off-the-ball incident with Valencia defender Jeison Murillo.

Initial footage was not clear as to what Ronaldo had done and former United defender Rio Ferdinand claimed Juventus could appeal the decision.

“It’s hard to see,” Ferdinand said on BT Sport.

On first viewing, BT presenter Gary Lineker and Scholes believe the officials made the right decision though.

“It’s a tough one to appeal,” ex-England striker Lineker said.

“He’s clearly tugged his hair, he’s kicked out.”

Scholes agreed, saying: “It looks like he has a couple of nibbles at him. It looks like he had a kick at first and possibly swung an elbow.

“A little kick there and he raises his left elbow there. It’s difficult and like you say if that goes to appeal I think he will struggle.”

The pundits were then shown a better angle of the incident between Cristiano Ronaldo and Murillo.

Owen Hargreaves believes the Portuguese superstar can have no complaints for the decision.
