Triple MG Tekno already has an excellent 2017, taking over from dominating 2016 with bangers after bangers. Yawa is one of fans favorite with over 7 million views since it dropped in March. The chart topping song was produced by MasterKraft.
2. Wizkid ft Drake – Come Closer
Wizkid has given us numerous number of songs this year, from Daddy Yo, Sweet Love and African Bad Gyal feat. Chris Brown amongst other leaked songs online, but none stands as tall as Come Closer featuring American Rapper Drake. The visual oozes of the beauties in African, it’s so unfortunately that drizzy did not make it to the video to add more spice, but still, the visual is one of the best out there. with the album Sounds From The Other Side on dropping son, we hope to see more surprises from Daddy Yo.
3. Davido – IF
In 2016, Davido moved to the states, mixed up with the American, and even dropped couple of songs and even an EP – “Coolest Kid In African” but these songs didn’t quite make it as expected. Fast forwards to 2017, Davido retraces his routes as he hooked up with the blessed one – Tekno who hooked him up with the beat to IF and Davido delivered just like he used to in songs like Aye, The Money, Gobe Skelewu to name a few.
IF is one of the best song in 2017. Davido delivered a masterpiece on this song and this is evident on charts.
4. Simi – Smile For Me
Smile For Me by Simi was one of the first songs that set the bar high in 2017. X3M Music artiste presented an outstanding lyrical content and creativity in this song and I know it will go down as one of the most thought about songs in 2017. What saddens me though is the low number of view on the video – This is current under 600k as I write (Does this tell a lot about Nigeria ?).
5. D’banj ft Wande Coal & Harrysong – It’s Not A Lie
Koko Master D’banj who recently turned a father with the recent birth of his first child – Daniel D’ Third, D’banj crowns it all with this masterpiece song featuring two amazing song writers and vocalists – Harrysong and former label Wande Coal on the song – It’s Not A Lie. The song is a potential hit song from D’banj which we’re very sure will cause major harm in weeks and months to come. #KingDonCome
6. Niniola – Maradona
Afro-House Queen Niniola started the year with this outstanding song, a song that has easily surpassed all her previous songs ?. Maradona was produced by Sarz and it’s currently still topping charts.
7. Davido – Fall
Fall is Davido’s second single of the year after the release of IF. Fall is enjoying same popularity as IF with fans still finding it hard to pick a favorite between the two song. others have also criticized the song as being a direct replica of his previous song – IF but despite that, the song is still topping charts and has over 2 million views on YouTube in less than 2 weeks
8. Bracket ft Phyno – Chop Kiss
The duo Bracket come through with Chop Kiss featuring highlife front man Flavour – the soul mid temple song was release as the official debut single for 2017 followed by their latest song Malo. Chop Kiss has creating a lot of buzz on playlists lately. The song was produced by MasterKraft
9. Runtown – For Life
In 2016, Runtown was pretty much considered the most underrated artiste in Nigeria as most people would not pay attention to his sounds after Gallado ft Davido off the 2015 Ghetto University album. Towards the end of 2016 he dropped a monster hit song “Mad Over You” which went viral like a wildfire and saw Runtown gaining the much needed attention in the music industry and also gained him some outstanding collaborations, Pain killer by Sarkodie ft Runtown and DJ Xclusive – Sexy Girls ft Runtown.
Following the same trend Runtown drops yet another banging song – For Life. produced by Krizbeatz

With First Wave EP in stores, Ycee is enjoying the popularity of Juice featuring Maleek Berry. Every party lately without Juice – Is not a great party !.
11. DJ Spinall ft Olamide – Gimmie Luv
Gimmie Luv by DJ Spinall featuring Olamide is one of the show starter jams in 2017.
12. Tekno – BE
As said above, Tekno is having a pretty amazing year with 3 hit songs already to his name and it’s only the middle of the year. BE was the follow up single to Yawa.
Not very sure if a video will be shot for this song as Tekno has gone ahead to release another song Samantha.
13. Tiwa Savage – All Over
Mavin Record Queen Tiwa started the year with the release of All Over which was produced by BabyFresh and was quickly followed up with a smashing hot video shot in Miami, Florida and directed by Patrick Elis.
We hope to hear more from Tiwa Savage and see more of the result of signing a management deal with Jay Z’s Roc nation.
14. Psquare – Nobody Ugly
Nobody Ugly by P-Square is their second single in 2017 after dropping Away. Arguable one of the most reasonable Nigerian song this year.

Rudeboy alongside Egbere papa is a sure banger – Dance comes as the second Timaya single in 2017 and has quickly grown on fans and music lovers hearts.
