On an interview on 96.9 Cool FM this morning, Ice Prince Zamani announced on the Midday Oasis with Dotun and Temi that he is no longer with Chocolate City.
He explained that his contract with the label, expired two years ago and due to his personal relationship with the label owners, decided not to make it public. The rapper has in the past two years removed every public link pointing his brand to Chocolate City, wiping their signage off his social media handles, and also off his press releases. He however still maintains working relationship with the label.
For now, Ice Prince is working on floating his record label, Super Cool Cats. He has some artists already signed on the label and he plans to announce them soon.
Ice Prince is the third act to announce departure from Chocolate City in the past 6 months, after the earlier departure of Kahli Abdu & VHS Safari, and recently, rapper Milli.
He is set to release his third studio album titled “Jos To The World” which follows “Everybody Loves Ice Prince”(2011) and “Fire of Zamani” (2013).
