The Minister of Youths and Sports Solomon Dalung on Friday, July 8 inaugurated the National Committee for the State Funeral Committee to oversee the funeral of late Super Eagles great, Stephen Keshi.

Keshi who led Nigeria to two African Cup of Nations title-one as a captain and the other as a coach- died on Wednesday, June 8 from suspected cardiac arrest.
Dalung in Abuja on Friday, charged the committee to document the life history of Keshi as a reference for the younger generation.

“This event is significant because apart from formally starting the burial ceremonies, it also signals government’s commitment under President Muhammadu Buhari to honour its sporting heroes both living and dead,” Dalung said.
