The singer was accused by fans of reporting about the negative side of the country, stating that her charity intervention was all for show.

American pop singer has become the subject of an online backlash after her comments calling Kibera, a city in Kenya, Africa’s biggest slum.

Some Kenyan fans did not take this comment lightly at all, as they abused her in their mass, most stating that she chose to talk about the bad side of the country.

An Instagram user with the ID “tabloidafrica” wrote, @madonna, no one is stupid enough to drink from an open sewer, come on! Use your brain white ignorant lady.”

“The problem with that picture is the reluctance of the county government in fixing the drainage system, not poverty.”

“If that were true, WHO would have had that place on lock down and cholera outbreak news would be all over your equally ignorant news networks like CNN”.

“Which hotel have you been spending at while in Kenya? Have you posted a picture of your room, the roads you used, the food you ate?”

“The first place these white folks suffering from savior syndrome visit is a slum. Rise above that. Kenya doesn’t need your help if the only thing you see here is filth.”

According to reports, Madonna is in Kenya to pursue a charity programme in company of her adopted children, who are originally from the country.

She had an interaction with the first lady of Kenya, Margaret Kenyatta, and Kennedy Odede, the founder of the Shining Hope for Communities(SHOFCO).

Madonna later proceeded to Malawi, where she continued with her charity campaign.
